Family adventures in vibrant Bo-Kaap, Cape Town

Lauren and Rob were over from the UK on holiday with their 3 gorgeous children (all under 6!), and we decided to do their photo shoot in Bo-Kaap.

The area holds strong memories for Lauren and Rob, as they had their wedding photos taken there several years ago.  As it was so close to Christmas, the area was surprisingly quiet, with only a few people ambling around. We strolled through the vibrant, colourful neighborhood and found some great areas for photos. Bo-Kaap is steeped in history and is also known as the Malay Quarter.  The Quarter extends over 85 acres bounded by Buitengracht, Rose Street, Carisbrook Street, Strand Street and the slopes of Signal Hill. The housing is made up of long continuous rows of small, mostly single-storeyed.  Some days there are street vendors selling traditional Malay food, so have some cash handy, as that is a treat in itself!
