An early morning family shoot in Sea Point meant we had a part of the promenade and beach to ourselves. The kids were a bit sleepy when we started, but as soon as they started running around and got their feet wet, they were wide awake and I got some happy moments.
Sea Point is an affluent and lively area, great to explore by bike or on foot. There are a couple of play areas along the walkway, which is great for younger kids, and a public salt water swimming pool area with gorgeous views of Lions Head and the atlantic ocean. Pack a picnic and enjoy it at one of the pools, or beautiful beaches, or stop off at Winchester Mansions or Rockpool restaurants for a drink and bite to eat. Both can found along Beach Road, opposite the promenade. If you’d prefer not to walk, you can hire a bicycle from Up Cycles to enjoy the 4.5km stretch of scenery. They also have children’s bikes, and seats for toddlers, so the whole family can enjoy the experience in the fresh beachy air.
